Neil Barrett: Welcome, welcome, welcome to the run out. I am Neil Barrett. He is Brandon Hooton. We have so much to get into this week. The water dogs are rolling. The number one team in the league just got run off the field by a team that was 500 a week ago. And the WLL is cruising towards the championship. but before we get into any of that, as always, Brandon, man, how you doing, bud?
@HootSportsMedia: Well, been busy. worked non stop. It was it was an event. Yeah, it was tiring. walked around literally all day long, pretty much, up and down. Saw a bunch of cool outfits, bunch of outfits that I would never attempt to pull off. some normal outfits.
Neil Barrett: How was ThriftCon? Yeah.
@HootSportsMedia: trying to think what else. Travy McCoy had a good performance. Damn Franchise Boys had a good performance. What else was there? eBay was there for my fellow card collectors. They did not have cards, but they were there. yeah, I don't know. It was fun. Just just a lot of work and if you couple that with the day job, that's a lot of days in a row at this point, but not complaining.
Neil Barrett: Did you come away with anything? Maybe not an outfit that was too crazy, but anything.
@HootSportsMedia: Like, did I buy anything? No. No, I bought absolutely nothing. There there was a guy that had a
Neil Barrett: Fair enough, fair enough.
@HootSportsMedia: handmade Denver Bronco rug that I asked him about. But the price was astronaut I didn't even really think about it once he told me the price. I was like I was like, I'll be back tomorrow and we'll see. And thankfully it was gone the next day 'cause I was like, dude, this is no. I'm not even gonna say the price, that's how much he wanted for it, but it was cool, but you know. But lots of cool people, that I was talking to, like
Neil Barrett: And you thought about it. Ha ha ha.
@HootSportsMedia: Almost everyone was cool with their picture being taken. Definitely a few on that second day that were I think some of them thought I was trying to sell them the photo. That's not what I was trying to do. So I ended up having to start saying exactly what it was for. and w which helped a little bit, but you know. It was cool nonetheless, definitely a different different type of event than sports. So we'll see if if I ever get those posted. Hopefully I will, but I'm pretty lazy about that these days.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah. Pretty lazy, he says. Well right, you know, it happens, I guess. I did nothing.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. I I look at too much and then I and then I hate them all afterwards, so then I don't wanna post them, you know.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, that's fair. That's fair. I do that I do that all the time. I was actually just looking at a we'll get into it obviously in a in a in a minute, but I was I was doing a Aiden Maguire piece this week. I literally did nothing but like watch sports all weekend. and so I was watching I don't even think it was lacrosse, I think I was watching like the World Cup or something. And I was I was like, you know what, I haven't done a design in a while. Let me let me do one. And there was the picture of Aiden McGuire after he scored the goal. And I was like, I want to do something with this. And I started working on it. I got, I had this idea of what I wanted to do in my head, but there were some limitations. That one picture of him had like someone else's stick was like cutting him off. And I was like, I can only kind of do this one thing. But then the the image was super grainy. it looked like they had shot it from almost the opposite end of the field. I don't know, though it just Just wasn't quite working out. And I got it to a place and I like I was like, maybe I'll come back to this. And then I I saw it earlier today and I was like, I don't know that I'm coming back to that. So
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I've had I've definitely had a fair share of those where I'm like in the moment and, you know, during the event I'm like, this is awesome and then I just see it too much and like all of a sudden I'm like, I hate looking at this. I don't want anyone else to look at this. And eventually I'll post something and then people will be like, This is awesome and I'm like, Well I'm glad you like it, 'cause I hate it at this point, so
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Mm-hmm. I I will say the things that I have posted that I was like, like I just need to post something, so I'm gonna post this even though like I hate it, are always the ones where I get like really, really good feedback and people like love it. And I'm like, you guys don't see all these issues that I do? Like what are you talking about? But whatever. I I guess that is is what it is, you know. Whatever. Anyway, let's let's talk some lacrosse. about that?
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. Yeah.
Neil Barrett: we will head into the first game of the weekend in Chicago. should we call it Chicago? Evanston, Northwestern? Whatever. First of all, first thing, before we get into this, I have to say, we have talked, I don't know if we talked too much about it on the show. We have talked several times, certainly off-air, about how attendance appears to be down and the atmospheres aren't quite as fun and enjoyable. This was not that.
@HootSportsMedia: Chicago.
Neil Barrett: This was the first time that I have tuned in to the PL this season and been like, okay, like, yeah, this looks fun. This looks like a place. I think Chicago is quickly skyrocketing in in terms of of venue locations for the PL. And it's funny to me because we talk a whole lot about like hotbeds and how you know, people say, they gotta go to hotbeds, they gotta do more hot. The hotbeds are so poorly attended. The people that are that do attend them don't seem to enjoy them as much. They're just kind of like there. you know, when you think about Utah and Chicago and I you know, I I I tweeted earlier this week about watching the the Louisville All-Star game and being like, yeah, that crowd was amazing. I just I just saw the the Jared Newman
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: hitting one twenty one highlights and I I was like, yeah, that crowd was amazing. Like what what is it about these these places that that are aren't traditional hotbeds or whatever that that just like pop off. you know, I think Calo are I c California's been pretty good. I I don't know that Carolina was great this year, but in the past Carolina's been great. you know, it's j it's just weird and makes me wonder where else we are not going that we should be going. but anyway, the games. the Water Dogs picked up a 15-13 win over the Redwoods. The Water Dogs move to 4-2, winning their third straight game, and they take over first place in the East. this game was great, super fun to watch. obviously the big story here is going to be CJ Kirst and his Sotra.
@HootSportsMedia: It feels like he has a sock trick like every other week. I know he literally doesn't, but he just scores so many goals that every time I look at the I look I look at the stats sheet and I'm like, he had five points or six points, or like how many of those were goals? And it's like all of them. Like Shooter shoot. I'm not complaining, but
Neil Barrett: I mean he almost does. Yeah. Wha w Go ahead.
@HootSportsMedia: I was just gonna say the the part of this game that I saw, the woods were up. And then when I when I checked back in later, all of a sudden they were down and I was like, what in the world is happening? And I checked the stat line, like I said, and I see CJ's going crazy and I'm like, well the It's gonna be hard to win if you're if you're letting him go for six, but I mean it looked like a good game. I can't speak to the second half much, but high scoring, which you know isn't totally my jam, but I'm sure other fans really enjoyed it.
Neil Barrett: I like that fifteen thirteen is high scoring to you.
@HootSportsMedia: Just bump it down a little bit. Just a little bit.
Neil Barrett: Fifteen thirteen is like right where I wanna be. I wanna be right there around fourteen goals. That's that's enough scoring.
@HootSportsMedia: No, here here's why here's why I don't like it. Because let's just assume every game in the league was like this, right? Fifteen thirteen. That means the goalies goals you know, average allowed would be thirteen plus, which is awful.
Neil Barrett: If e if everybody's doing that, then that's that is what it is.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, but that but that I don't want mediocrity to be like the bar. I want it to be like we got some good
Neil Barrett: That's not necessarily mediocrity. It could be thirteen goals, but you made forty five saves.
@HootSportsMedia: See, that's that's one thing. But I don't wanna see that every week. I I wanna see a ten a ten goal meet right there. Make goals premium.
Neil Barrett: This guy. This guy I don't also also says the guy who doesn't like soccer 'cause it's boring.
@HootSportsMedia: It's alright, my defensive players agree with me. They know what's up. Yeah, that's not enough. You have to find the sweet spot.
Neil Barrett: Okay. All right.
@HootSportsMedia: We also shouldn't have to go to extra time to magically get a get a goal. Just give some penalty kicks and call it a day.
Neil Barrett: When did we have to get a goal from extra time?
@HootSportsMedia: I've watched plenty of MLS games in person and have ha had to go to extra time. It's awful.
Neil Barrett: Well, MLS. Also, you can't have watched that many because they have they have draws in the regular season.
@HootSportsMedia: That's fair. It's also awful. We need to just go straight shootout immediately, no draws ever. Yes, yes, yes.
Neil Barrett: No, no. Shootout shootouts are the worst way to decide games.
@HootSportsMedia: Let's let's let's take it away f no it's not. Let's take it away from eleven guys on the field. Let's make it like eight. Give more space to run. It'll up scoring.
Neil Barrett: Yes it is. I would I would much rather you do that. Just take a pla you know, that's a that's a mode on on I think that's a mode on FIFA. Where you can where you go into over if you if you go into extra time, you can play a mode where like a player comes off the field every so often and you end up with like one on one just running up and down the field.
@HootSportsMedia: Good, I hope it is. Yes. Yes. You want people like me to watch soccer? That's how you do it right there.
Neil Barrett: I would I would much rather that than decide games on penalty shootouts. I'd I'd much rather someone actually have to win the game than than decide on the random luck of penalty shootouts that has nothing to do with the game itself and who how it was played. So that's
@HootSportsMedia: I I agree, they just gotta do that in the normal time allowed.
Neil Barrett: Like I said, how many times have you have you seen that have have to happen? This
@HootSportsMedia: Fun fact actually, a couple of years back, I can't even tell you who was playing. It was like a a random league in like Mexico or something. but they they literally played to like a hundred and twenty minutes because like no one could score. I don't even remember if it like how it ended or anything. I just remember watching I think this was back when I was sports betting is the reason I was watching it. And I was just like, This is taking ages off years off my life.
Neil Barrett: I I feel like I feel like I'm going to I I I'm gonna speak for the people that are listening that understand soccer, which is probably like Michael Harrison and that's about it. extra time goes until 120 minutes. There's no golden gold. It always goes to 120.
@HootSportsMedia: It's awful. It it's so bad. I was sitting there, I was just like, dude, someone's got score. Like
Neil Barrett: Listen, it happens. We've listen, I've I've watched
@HootSportsMedia: We're way off track. All I'm saying is give me like eleven to ten over fifteen thirteen.
Neil Barrett: No. I want fifteen thirteen. Every time.
@HootSportsMedia: You d you just wanna see CJ Kirch score a sock trick everyone
Neil Barrett: no, that's the last thing I want. no, I you were talking about I forget what exactly you said, but it reminded me of the conversation that we had last week about the guy who was the Water Dogs fan who had messaged me and was like, What do what do we need? and I think I think we saw it in this game. I th I think we saw they actually got midfield production this week.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: especially from from Joshiago, Silas Richmond had a goal. I think several of their other midfielders had some points or something. I cannot remember specifically. but it also reminded me that my answer to that kid was gonna be consistency number one and and and especially from that midfield. But the only things that I can count on from this from this Water Dogs team are CJ Kirst is gonna have six points. Michael Sowers is gonna have three. And and the defense is both going to be insanely good and insanely bad. Those are the only three things that I can count on from this Water Dogs team week in and week out. I say that and they've won three straight now. but but yeah, you know, CJ Kirst is. Insane. We talked about last week about whether or not he was the best all around lacrosse player in the world right now. I I still am not ready to jump on that bandwagon. is he the best field player in lacrosse right now? Perhaps. I think I think he's certainly way more in that conversation. and he's definitely, especially after this weekend, I think he's far and away the MVP favorite at this point. I I think the only person that's even remotely close is Brett Dobson. And you know, they got it they got a big win, which we'll get to in a in a minute. So that certainly helps his case, but it still feels like a bridge too far for for him unless things just get real crazy here.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, CJ was already ahead, so as long as he keeps doing this, it doesn't really matter what what Dobber does, but
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah, and I and this yeah. Yeah, I'd I'd agree with that. I I I think CJ was already ahead. And this week he he put a little bit more distance between him and second place. but but I think Dauber's the only one that's even close. Like I CJ could fall off a decent amount, and the only person that's gonna catch him is Dauber. and that's you know, assuming he keeps but.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. Yeah. But I mean I I'm pretty sure I saw a thing that said CJ is like outpacing the points per game mark or something like that, dating back to like the L L days. And the L L played sixty minute games or something like that.
Neil Barrett: no, that's that was that was goals per game. Not the point he's still not gonna be anywhere near not anywhere near. He'll be near. At his current pace, he will finish nine points shy of Jeff Teat's points record.
@HootSportsMedia: Okay, okay. Which is still just so stupid that he did that in ten games. Like
Neil Barrett: Well, and to be fair, CJ will be nine points short in ten games as well. He missed the first two games, 'cause he was with The Rock. But yeah.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. Yeah, but that's still wild that it's there's that big of a disparity. Like I
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah, because if if I did my math correct and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, even if CJ played the extra two games at his current pace, he would only beat Jeff Teat's record by like one goal or one point, something something like that. It it'd be one or two points. It would you know, he'd barely barely edge it out in two extra games. So, like you said, just an an insane, insane thing. And it and it's I always feel like I need to say something. Like, I feel like some of the hyperbole around CJ Kirst is getting to me a little bit because I get I agree. CJ Kirst is insane. This year is insane. He is running away with the MVP. I'm not suggesting anything other than that. But I do have to stop and remind people every once in a while, like Yeah, he's he's having an insane year, but he's still not having the insane year that Jeff Teat had. He's he's still you know, I I think there's still a good argument that that again Brett Dobson is a better all-around player than he is, you know, and that's before you get into guys like Dane Smith who aren't playing field anymore. I I think Dane Smith could show up tomorrow and and be an MVP in the PL. You know, so I think there are other guys in that conversation above CJ. so some of the hyperbole gets to me and makes me be like, I I have to say something here. but then I have to like check myself there too, because I'm like, I don't want I I don't want to in any way insinuate that CJ isn't just having an insane year and one of the best seasons that we've ever seen. But but you know, we talk about we talk about that goal, the The goals per game thing, which is crazy because especially when you get to some of those ML years that that were playing l much longer games and guys got more possessions and shots and everything. but there was the one that said the other the other one that came out this week was that CJ is on pace to score fifty goals this season, which would completely abl obliterate the previous goals in a season record, which was thirty by Marcus Holman. But Of the top five, assuming that he hits fifty, the f the five people that he would be beating in the in the top five, only one of them would have anywhere near as few assists as CJ Kirst does. So like Marcus Holman, I think the year he had 30 goals, he had 13 assists. Connor is it Connor Fields? One of the guys who else was on that now I feel like I've got to look this up. That One of the guys had like thirty thirty goals and like twenty-three assists. I think it was I I wanna say maybe it was it was was it Shelley?
@HootSportsMedia: I don't even remember what Shelley's season was last year.
Neil Barrett: man. I think it was Shelley's twenty-four, I think is what it was. Where like he had an insane year, but it was completely overshadowed by or maybe maybe it was Jeff Teet's season, actually, now that I think about it. It was Jeff Teet's season, I'm sure of it. 'cause he had like he had like maybe you know what, maybe I flipped those. Maybe he had like twenty-eight goals and thirty-six assists or something like that.
@HootSportsMedia: La well so last year Shelley had twenty three and twenty three. Evenly split. It definitely wasn't his twenty four year.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, but twenty three wouldn't be enough. It needs Yeah, it needs look at Jeff Teats twenty four. I think it's twenty eight goals and thirty-six assists.
@HootSportsMedia: Let's see here. Twenty eight goals and thirty six assists and twenty four for T.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. And so so there's a part of me that's like, I I get it. 50 goals is insane. But I I have I feel like I have to temper it just a little bit because everyone else on those goals lists is putting up significantly more assists. And it's like, could Marcus Holman score 50 goals in a season if he if that's all he did? I would think so, probably. But But again, then I then it's like, yeah, all right, you know, are you just being contrarian? You know, I don't know. I don't know. It's it's this weird line that I walk with with CJ, I guess. anyway, let's let's switch gears a little bit.
@HootSportsMedia: wait, wait, wait, time out. Alex Tathicus, fifty eight percent his return. Just wanna throw that out there.
Neil Barrett: You might have to demensor that reference for the people. I know what you I know what you're talking about because I think that was an offline conversation.
@HootSportsMedia: It was, but it's mostly just to give give some shine to Stath, 'cause I I know there was question about about if Connor Farrell was gonna end up continuing to play once stath came back. And then he made the all-star team and everyone was like Percentage wise it doesn't really make a ton of sense when P D is right there, but whatever. and sure enough here we go. You made the comment to me that Stath was only four percent better than Farrell.
Neil Barrett: Ha ha W to
@HootSportsMedia: whatever year that was. And I I made the argument that that's a that's a big a big jump in the face off world. Maybe my f maybe the Fogos will disagree, but I mean that literally wins or loses you awards.
Neil Barrett: was lasher. I mean I listen. Listen, four percent can be a good jump. My point wasn't that that four percent wasn't better. It's that whatever I I if I remember correctly, it was something like like both were just barely above fifty percent or something. Yeah, so i it my point was just like it's not like it's the difference between probably winning and losing.
@HootSportsMedia: It was like fifty two forty eight, I think it was.
Neil Barrett: You know, it I mean, if you really want to think about it, they're on a three game roll inning streak, two of those games came with with Connor Farrell and one of them came with Stathakis. So like, you know, that that was my whole point was like I don't I wouldn't make other than the fact that I know Bill Tierney really likes Alex Stathakis and you know, remember he b he brought him in and then I I think he got hurt or something, right? And so they just played without a photo for a while. that was that was what went down.
@HootSportsMedia: he was finishing up his his degree. 'Cause DU was on trimester so he had to kinda finish that first and
Neil Barrett: that's what it was. That's what it was. Yeah. And so rather than dressing someone, he just didn't dress someone and they just waited until Stathicus showed up. So like other than the idea of like, I know Bill Tierney really liked Stathicus and like wanted him in his team, I was like, I don't I I my argument was just I don't know that it's it's worth messing with the chemistry of of your team this far into if it was still week two or three or something, like cool, but like we're after the all-star break and now we're gonna start switching up.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: the the team you know, I just thought mi it it wasn't such a jump that really made it worth doing, but they did it and obviously it worked out at at least this week. So i I I can't I can't it it's kinda like when I thought the the Atlas shouldn't have sat Miles Jones. Like I can't really argue with the result. They won the championship. Like the Water Dogs won this game. I can't be like, see they should address Connor Farrell. It worked. Like I you know, s it is what it is. So
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: But I I I wanted to ask you, this was this was a game where it felt like every single player on the field was scoring. And and this goes back to the idea of like why 15-13 doesn't bother me, especially if the goals are going to look like they looked on in this game. I felt like every single game every single goal in this game was just jaw drop. Like what in the world happened? So I'll I'll list a couple of them. you don't have to choose from this list. This is just listing a a few of them. I but I want to know what your favorite goal was this weekend. We got CJ's floater. Technically there were two of those, but I think the one where he kind of dodges through the middle and and and I think everyone watching the game thought he was going to shoot, you know, hard and low. And instead he just kind of blooped it right over Dylan Ward's head into the corner. We got Josh Yah Josh Iago's ankle breaker from X. that spin move. You and I have seen Josh Iago probably as much as anyone in the country besides the Air Force coaches. and when I saw him pull that off, I was like, I didn't know Josh Iago had that in him. you know, like that was that blew my mind. there's Ryder Garnsey's goal from his knees. and then and then obviously there's the the CJ Kirst goal at the end of that game where he dodged through like three people, got to the middle and and scored. so th those are kind of the that's kind of the overview. The like I said, feel free to pick one that wasn't one of those. what what do you got?
@HootSportsMedia: Well, I think the the CJ goal to Ice It and the Joshiago goal as a play, I think those are the two best. But I don't think they're the two best goals just 'cause the shot itself was it was a shot. And I think there are better actual shots, but those are like my honorable mentions 'cause I think those are the most fun to watch. I also really, really liked Braden Mae's Is it Mae or Maya have we figured that out yet?
Neil Barrett: Okay. That's fair. You know, we had this conversation during the NLL season. I have always heard Maya, even when I was working high point games that he played, I've always heard that. But I also feel like the the Calgary announced team would probably know better than I would. and they said Maya. So
@HootSportsMedia: Okay. Alright, we're going with my A 'cause that I like the way that sounds a little bit better. Until I'm corrected. but yeah, I really liked his opening goal. Just the the whole sequence, catching it high and shoveling it low, like I I think that is really cool.
Neil Barrett: I like my A too, but I that's just how I've heard it. So Yeah. Yeah, the the sh the shovel I was I couldn't believe he pulled that off because it it was like you said, he had to catch it high and then to know to do that. I I agree with you, that should be on this list.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. But Ryder's goal from the ground, bar down, I just can't figure out how he had the power and the accuracy to do it from that position. So I I think I think I have to go with that one, but I don't think there's necessarily a wrong I mean, CJ's floater going this way, shooting it the opposite the finesse that that takes is is crazy too, but I yeah, I I think I'm going with Riders, but there's a lot to choose from.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah, that's fair. I it's one of those things where I'm like, I don't know that there's a wrong answer to this question. I I think I would lean ever so slightly. I I agree with everything that you said. I think I would lean ever so slightly towards CJ's floater. I just that it reminds me of like a a a tumbler. You know, they hit these like carwheel round off backflip, backflip, and then they and then all of a sudden they just pop out of it and just do like a super controlled layout.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: and it's just like a super, you know, slow controlled backflip, or or front flip or you know, whatever. that's all I could think of watching that. The that the control, the patience, like everything about that just just blew me away. it's also something I don't think I've ever seen that effortlessly. I I've seen people, you know, take off off speed shots and stuff, but Yeah, and again, just the way he did it where you know, I think everyone watching, everyone in the stadium, clearly Dylan Ward, everybody I think thought he is going low with you know the pace of a normal shot and to just kind of loop it over the top into that corner was was incredible. So let's
@HootSportsMedia: I will say floaters in box are some of my favorite goals. So I still really like that play too. Just because it I can't my mind cannot comprehend like the touch that it takes in that speed in in game speed. Like I can see people like if I'm standing here I can probably float something, but to think about that in real time, recognize like you're saying that, I I got the goalie to drop so I can lit I don't even have to fire this thing that hard. Like that's just
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah.
@HootSportsMedia: Clearly you could tell I've never played 'cause I can't comprehend that, but it's still is just crazy to think that someone's at that level and scoring six times the same gate. Like that's stupid, but
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah. And and and not for nothing. We didn't talk about it a whole lot. You you kind of briefly mentioned it. The goal to ice the game. I mean, that was just I I think there were four, maybe five seconds left on the shot clock. That was literally him just being like, I'm going to goal. You're not going to stop me. And I think we I think we saw it in the NL a few times, with The Rock. There were there were a few, a handful of times I can think of, you know, in the in the in the NL finals. He had I think he had two. Where, you know, he be he brought it down the wall and just you could tell he just like flipped a switch and was like, I'm going to goal. You're not gonna stop me. And he and he did. And and to be fair, what we were talking about earlier about CJ and whether or not he he can be the best player in the world. Clearly he can be. He he can be. I I w when he scored that goal, it was like, Yeah, why doesn't why don't you just do that all the time? Like I, you know.
@HootSportsMedia: Ha ha.
Neil Barrett: Just take it to X every time and do that. Every time. Clearly they can't stop you. Just do it again.
@HootSportsMedia: Mm-hmm.
Neil Barrett: Y I you know, I know I know you wouldn't be a fan of that 'cause i we'd start running up scores, but you know. All right, let's move over to the second game of the weekend that saw the Boston Cannons upset your Denver
@HootSportsMedia: Whoa, whoa, whoa, we're just skipping over Utah New York here?
Neil Barrett: that's at the bottom of my list. My bad.
@HootSportsMedia: Well, all right, all right, we can go there, that's fine.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, let's just go ahead and get it out of the way. I wanted I wanted you to be re be able to recover from the tears, you know.
@HootSportsMedia: I didn't even watch the game. I can't be sad. I don't know how
Neil Barrett: Anyway, the Boston Cannons beat the Denver Outlaws 15 to 13. Another another 15-13 game? Is that right? Denver entered this weekend as ESPN's number one team in their power rankings. but apparently nobody told Coulter Mackie he had two goals and three assists. And Denver is now three and three.
@HootSportsMedia: So was half the league.
Neil Barrett: To be that's fair. A lot of the league
@HootSportsMedia: Actually actually that's not even accurate. Half the league is three and four.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah. Although they're not out of it by any stretch, but it does feel weird that I think we all thought, and probably I weirdly enough, I still think most of us still, even right here, right now, after this weekend, still think Denver is probably the best team in the league. Which is which is part of why I this game was weird to me because I didn't feel like it really showed us much about either team. I mean I mean, I guess you could argue it it showed that Boston has some fight in them. but I I feel like if you played this game ten times, this would have been the only time they won.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, I mean you look at the standings and like none of it makes any sense. Like Philly's four and two but they have a a negative four score differential. Denver's five hundred with an eight score differential. This brought Boston up to three and four and they're at zero. Like that's I don't I'm not ever gonna say like none of it none of it matters 'cause like losing still matters and it sucks, but like you're right that it's just I I don't know how to judge anything because on one hand it's like first came back from all star break, maybe they just weren't ready to go and that
Neil Barrett: Mm mm. What's a
@HootSportsMedia: it happens. But at the same time they put up thirteen goals. So then the way I'm I'm looking at it is like, okay, what happened defensively that's that cost you that game. There's no reason you should be giving up nine goals in the first half. Like that's ridiculous.
Neil Barrett: Well, a lot of it I a lot of it I think was turnovers. I thought it was the worst game I think I've seen Jared Bernhardt play. Jared Bernhardt looked awful. I didn't think Pat Kavanaugh did anything. Logan Wisnowskis didn't do much of anything either. Brennan O'Neal looked good in moments, but you know, they put up 13 points, but it it was the most Vanilla is that a is that a way to describe it? I don't know. They they didn't look, and this is this is, I think, part of where that idea of of how good Denver truly is comes in. I I don't think that they looked really good in any aspect of the game. Andrew McMeakin absolutely walked at the face off dot. I don't think Logan McNaney looked good. I I I thought the defense had moments where they looked really good. I I think part of the thing was that the ball just kind of kept coming back down at them. and they would they would play some long possessions and stuff. but then at other times they clearly didn't look good. there were there were periods of this game where Mike Manley looked incredible. And you'd be like, What where did this come from? You know, the 38 year old or however however old Mike Manley is. Like w where did this come from? And then there were there were times when you just couldn't you couldn't stop Boston from doing anything. but But I s all that to say, they lost by two. You know, they I I i I think it's the worst game they played all season and they were still right there in it.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, but th but that's I think every game they've lost has been that way. If I'm not mistaken. I think they lost to Carolina by one. They lost to Utah that might have been three now that I'm saying that one. But regardless, like it's that's that's the league as a whole. It you know, they're it's a bunch of close games. You have the occasional blowout, but like they gotta find a way to to win these games. The only thing that's giving me some type of like not freaking out moment is that it's happening across the league. It isn't like a
Neil Barrett: You know.
@HootSportsMedia: all of a sudden you're it's happening to you type of thing. Now, the downside is when it's one and done in the playoffs, if you if this happens, like it's over for you. we actually saw that a few years back when they were five and five and they made the playoffs first round, I think it was against the whips, and it was like that that's your that was your bad game and they're out of it. So again, I like that they they scored a lot. But like you can't you can't give up nine in the first half, come out in the third quarter defensively, play really strong, only give up one goal, and then immediately give up five again in the fourth quarter. Like that's that's the time that you need to be at your best. And they obviously weren't. I saw there were a few goals I felt like Logan McNaney should have had that just they were soft goals that that got by him, so don't love that. For the Cannons. I think it's I mean they're they're turning it around. I'm not gonna say that they have flipped the one eighty quite yet 'cause I I still need to see some more, but I mean good for them. If they can do this every week then hey they'll be they'll be fighting for a a a championship.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. I I think that was a big part of the problem in this game, what you're talking about is it you know, the defense I think really stepped up in the in that third quarter. I just didn't feel I know they had three goals, but like it just didn't ever feel like the offen it felt like neither side of the field was playing well at the same time as the other side. You know, the the defense was playing well, but they weren't they weren't doing anything when they'd get possession. Or the offense started playing a little bit well, but the defense just couldn't stop anything. and so yeah, d to me it was just one of those just one of those like funky games where like things just don't quite line up. You know, you didn't get blown out, but things just didn't quite like line up. and so, you know, I I think it I think it'll be Fine again, I think even now most of us probably have the Outlaws as the best team in the league. And and may maybe with the exception of the Water Dogs are are the favorite to win the title again, even now. because if it even when they're not clicking, you always know like if this team clicks, it's a problem.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. I I will say I know you weren't high on Philly coming into the year. I I would probably put them number one right now. Even though I think I think Denver's there with the roster, there's enough concern as far as like you're saying, get getting everyone on the same page at the same time that I think they're a close second, but there's enough doubt there that's like I don't know.
Neil Barrett: so you know, and I'm with you. I'm I'm I'm fine with Philly being two. I still honestly, I still might have the water dog. Here's and here's why not the water dogs, the redwoods, above them. Me personally, I'm fine if if you flip that. That's totally fine. Me personally, I think Chris Fake was reactivated today, I believe that was. I think he's been a huge missing piece for them. I think if he's on the field.
@HootSportsMedia: That's fair.
Neil Barrett: This past weekend, this game may go the other way. but e but either way, I'm fine with you flipping those two. I would still have Denver. I I hate to not look at what's happening on the field, but I still just feel like Denver Denver has it all. They were there last year. I I know, I know, I feel like, you know, all last season I was the guy that was like, how long. Are we gonna say that the archers are gonna figure it out before we realize they're not going to? But I it just feels like the outlaws are going to figure it out. At least with the archers last year. You know, you you knew you knew that they had health issues, that guys were were out and stuff. Right now is it like the guys are on the field. It's they're you know, and maybe that's worse. Maybe that's maybe that's an argument the other direction. And and I should be listening to that instead of of trying to force it the other way. But I don't know. I I just feel like I have a lot more faith in this outlaws team to turn it on when they need to. and that might be my downfall. So
@HootSportsMedia: I mean, hey, I would love for that to happen. But like this was the first time, I think, all season that we've seen midfield help, pretty much. I mean, Dalton Young with four goals alone. you know, Anderson finally had a goal, Bundy with a an assist, like it's not crazy, but you factor in if if JB Ten actually does something in this game, now you have four middies that actually contributed in some way. Like that's it sucks that he had bad game, but that's
Neil Barrett: Well that's
@HootSportsMedia: It goes to show I mean, the fact that Brennan had a goal literally on the crease, when was the last time we saw that? You you know what I'm s he's he's cutting and like that doesn't ha that's not a Brennan move. So that's the other part of me that's like, are they just trying things that maybe because he had the cold streak at the beginning of the year that they're like, Hey, we need to like try this random thing? I mean, you see Wade's got one shot in this game. W why? He's your most efficient shooter. And he went one for one.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Well and that and that that's where that's where I'm at with with this game specifically. I felt like JB Ten just had a a a terrible game. I w how many turnovers did he have?
@HootSportsMedia: Four t four turnovers is tough.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. and then I felt like Pat Kavanaugh didn't really do much of it. He wasn't particularly bad. He just wasn't particularly good either. Like he just he didn't contribute. And then like you said, Wiz had one shot. And what else, what else is Logan Wisnowskis contributing to this team week in and week out, other than shots and goals? So if he's got one shot and and one goal, like what else was he doing on the field? How many touches did Logan Wisnowskis have?
@HootSportsMedia: Yep. Twenty four. Twenty two passes, one turnover.
Neil Barrett: Geez, I would not have guessed.
@HootSportsMedia: Which is why like I I brought this up years ago, a couple of years back when he wasn't producing a ton and I was like his the only thing he does is shoot the ball. Like and he's not he's not the same type of shooter like a CJ Kirst who's moving around the same way. So you're going to have to kind of draw things up. But you're telling me he can't get a little bit of movement, you know, a quick a quick stick goal. Like it's just it's just stuff like that that I think sometimes this team struggles with when they're producing on it. And the you you can see it in games where they'll hit one and then go away from it. And then they need some juice and then they'll come back to it randomly, but it's too late. And it's like you should have been make make make them stop you with this and at some point it's gonna open up this thing. And now they're gonna have to, you know, go stop that. And now they're gonna have and that's where it's like like you're saying to your point if they're all on the field, it's almost more frustrating because, you know, this this win loss, win loss thing when you have all these guys that can all score. Is just like, come on man, like kicking into high gear. But I digress.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, yeah. but like you said, shifting gear slightly, I I I'm still not real high on this cannons team. I I know I know that they have you know put it together, but again, this this game felt more like a conversation about Denver and just like it not working for them than it was about like how much how good Boston was, you know. I feel like I'm I'm gonna need to see it more. I I don't know I don't know how much better of a game they can have than that one and beat the Denver Outlaws in order to convince me, you know, the the number one team in the league coming into the game. So you know maybe the problem's on me to to start
@HootSportsMedia: Well, no, I mean I'm looking back right now, they've given up twelve plus goals in
Neil Barrett: looking, but
@HootSportsMedia: I'm at five games right now. six games. Six games in a row.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, but I I think they would say, Yeah, but if we if we score fourteen a game, then I'm pretty sure
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, that's that's so far four times they haven't done that.
Neil Barrett: I'm pretty sure it was them, right, that has the the highest scoring offense in the league.
@HootSportsMedia: they are at ninety. Yeah, they lead by one. They lead Maryland by one goal. But they also lead no, they they don't lead goals against. They're they're third in goals against third highest with ninety as well. Carolina gave up ninety one. New York has given up ninety three.
Neil Barrett: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, again I I would go back to the idea of like if if I don't want to say if I was them, obviously, but you know, I I wouldn't be surprised if it's like, you know, hey, we like sure we'd love to be better defensively, obviously. but if we give up thirteen and score fifteen, that's fine.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, but th but the issue with me is you're winning more face offs now with McMeekin. So you're gonna have more possessions th than the other team. If you're doing that and you're still giving up a minimum of twelve goals, that's not including like giving up seventeen or fourteen like they have, then it gets to the point of like, okay, how many goals can you actually score week in and week out? But I don't fully disagree with what you're saying either, 'cause they just did it, so
Neil Barrett: to you know the best team in the league pro probably potentially so I don't know I don't know this this league is such a mess like and you can't it's and again I I think so much of it has to do this year specifically I mean the margins have always been i insanely tight in this league but it also feels like these team like I don't know who these teams are.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: You know, every time you think you have them figured out, everything changes. And it's like I d I I have no idea who these teams are, who's any good, what the deal a few weeks ago I thought the Whip Snakes were were the best team in the league. And not not based on this past week's evidence, which we'll get to in just a second, but you know, I'm not sure that anybody thinks that anymore. You know, I don't know. Let's speak of the Whip Snakes, let's talk about their game. They absolutely demolished the Carolina Chaos. The final score was 17 to 10. I think that is flattering for the Chaos. the Whip Snakes, other than, you know, once they built their three-point lead, which I believe was early in the first quarter, they never led by fewer than three goals in this game. TJ Malone had six points. Rob Pennell picked up, I believe it was four points. he is now three. Okay. Okay. He he picked up three points. He's now three points behind Paul Rabel's all-time PL scoring record. So decent chance he breaks that this weekend, which we will get to a little bit later. I there was there was a moment in time in which I thought maybe it was gonna because I think he got those three points pretty early.
@HootSportsMedia: three. One goal two assists.
Neil Barrett: and and I think there was a moment in time where we all thought, is he gonna do this today? which was really funny because this was the game that was broken on ESPN plus. I I know you were you were working, so I I think you I think you might no, I don't know that you were working. This is when your Twitter was not working. We didn't even we didn't even get into that this weekend.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was dumb too.
Neil Barrett: We shouldn't have talked about that earlier. but yeah, that was a that was a whole thing in and of itself for anyone who missed it to catch you up. this game was after the WLL game. and it appeared that that maybe the PLL or the WLL stream got like stuck on ESPN Plus because it was listed all the way through. into the fourth quarter of this game and when you would go to it it would say, you know, this stream has ended. and the Whipsnakes Chaos stream never loaded. and so lots of people were very upset. but you could watch it on dis through do Disney Plus and Hulu if you had those. so the stream was working fine. it was just something on ESPN's end that that wasn't working. They did finally get it set up in the fourth quarter, I think is what I saw. I was watching for a while to see if it would it would get up, but by the time I got through the fourth quarter, I'd stopped watching to see. anyway. all that to say I I know the PLL was like sweating about like if pa if Rob Pennell breaks this record and the game is not being is not able to be watched by like most of the audience. Like that's gonna be a problem. So I don't think anyone was more happy that Rob Pinnell did not end up breaking that record than the PLL themselves, but
@HootSportsMedia: Hey, I just hope that he doesn't do it this week either. He can save it for Denver in two weeks. That'd be awesome. Please sub.
Neil Barrett: You shoot you shooting in Denver?
@HootSportsMedia: Yes, sir. I always shoot in Denver.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, all right. I mean I f I figured you were, but I you know, I don't maybe maybe you got maybe you got another thrift con, I don't know.
@HootSportsMedia: Doesn't matter who I'm shooting for, I will be there. I will be there. no. No. I d I don't. That's that's a one time event. Once a year, dude. Hey, don't knock it till you try it.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, listen, I don't know how I dun I don't know how thrift listen I'm not I'm not making fun of
@HootSportsMedia: It might it might break your Twitter and it might you know, not let you have Wi Fi certain parts of the building, but
Neil Barrett: Yeah, sounds like it was a blast.
@HootSportsMedia: Other than that, it was awesome. It was it was
Neil Barrett: Elon saw that you were at ThriftCon and was like, nah. Get him out. Get him out.
@HootSportsMedia: He's like, Nope. I ki I kid you not. I don't know what happened. It just broke. Like midday and I like, Okay, I guess I'll deal with this later. Like
Neil Barrett: Is it is it fully fixed now? I know you're back in the group chats, but is it fully fixed?
@HootSportsMedia: It it u it appears to be I I What's funny is I I started like typing people's names in and all of a sudden those chats were populating and it had the history saved. But when I added your name in, it didn't save yours. A couple others it didn't save theirs. But like all these chats I talked to like years ago magically popped up. And I was just like, I don't know what's going on and so I finally looked it up when I had time Sunday night and it like, try logging out and back in and see what happens and I did.
Neil Barrett: Okay. All right. Just checking. Okay.
@HootSportsMedia: All of a sudden everything was like filling in my DMs and it was all back. Except for I I could actually view our big group chat, but I could not respond or anything. It said like I had to be added. So I messaged Brian. He was like, it's saying you need to update to this like new type of X chat or something and I was just like, I don't even know what that is. I don't know how to do that. Like So I left the chat. Dre texted me and is like, Yo, you good? I saw you left the chat. And I like, if only you knew What I've been dealing with. I'm trying to get back into the chat.
Neil Barrett: I didn't even notice that you left.
@HootSportsMedia: Apparently it told Dre I left 'cause I deleted it. And all of a sudden I was back and I think the only people that knew I was locked out were you, Michael and and Brian.
Neil Barrett: It does say it actually says Brandon Hooten and Brandon Hooten left the chat or left the group.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, 'cause I deleted it multiple times. It was it was recreating the chat, so I left like I deleted both of them.
Neil Barrett: That's so funny.
@HootSportsMedia: What a what a dumb app that is, man. Like
Neil Barrett: Why does it say group call ended at nine twenty three?
@HootSportsMedia: I I I don't dude, I don't all I know is I was so mad because I could see you guys I could get the alerts all weekend of you guys talking about the games and certain things and I like, Boy, I wish I could talk, but I'm stuck here instead in Twitter jail. Like
Neil Barrett: Also, I I said this to you earlier. I did not know that was branch chat. Anyway, our the podcast listeners are like, what is happening right now? We've just gone on like a
@HootSportsMedia: What is that? This is this is this is last after dark right here.
Neil Barrett: That's right. That's right. it's it's only gonna go go downhill. You guys might as well turn it off at this point. Anything anything else on this whip snakes chaos game? I mean this is
@HootSportsMedia: Nah, good for the whips.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Is Who you know what? I'll I'll come back to that quite I got I have a question for you. but we'll we'll wait. I'll come I'll come back to that question in in just a minute. let's move over to the it was not the final game of the weekend, but the final game for us to cover from the weekend. and that was the archers absolute route. I th I said the whip snakes destroyed the cannons. The archers destroyed the The Atlas. final score was 16.5. That is flattering for Atlas. This should have been 16-2, I think. this was just an absolute beatdown of the Atlas. they have now allowed, like you mentioned earlier, 93 points this season. Their goal differential is, I believe, negative 12. Is that right?
@HootSportsMedia: destroyed. I think it's negative eighteen. Yeah, it's negative eighteen. It's done for.
Neil Barrett: Negative 18. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. No, like th they absolutely got demolished and Yeah, I mean, I what is there to say? I again, this team doesn't make any sense. Liam Intamin looks bad, the offense looks bad, the defense looks bad. I'm not, you know, Trevor's not been out there, but you know, it's not like they're they're they're not playing well anywhere on the field, which is baffling because even with some of the the pieces that they're missing with Gavin Adler gone with Jeff Tito, this team is still loaded. with talent. And yet I mean they just look like hot garbage. and then perhaps more interestingly were the comments after the game from Mike Pressler talking about how guys aren't listening and they've gotta fix that and and this like it was really weird like public airing of
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: drama from coach Pressler and
@HootSportsMedia: From with the defending champions, mind you, which makes it even more insane that that's happening.
Neil Barrett: Right, right. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. No, it's just yeah, it was it was weird. It was weird. So I don't I don't even this is another game where like I look at it, I'm like, I don't even know what to take from this game. Are the are the archers any good? I I don't think so. I I I mean I think I can take away that the Atlas are pretty bad and it seems like they might be imploding a bit.
@HootSportsMedia: mean th what's funny is they're three and four tied with three other teams. But of those three and four teams, like they definitely are the most alarming in their position right now. Yeah, I don't I don't really have much to say. I it's just a total breakdown. A game like this, everyone should I mean, top to bottom, just bad. You know, you you get again, you give up ten goals in the first half and score two. You don't even score in the second quarter. You know, you have a thirty six save percentage from from Entenman. Zach Tucci just couldn't win face offs.
Neil Barrett: I d I don't know what there is.
@HootSportsMedia: The one nice stat line is Brett Macar with three cost turnovers. That's about it.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, Brett Macar's probably been Brett Macar's probably been the standout of this Atlas team. I I think when when the Gavin Adler trade happened, it there was a lot of like, crap, what are they gonna do? And Brett Macar has stepped into the Gavin Adler hole and and filled in incredibly well. The problem is As good as it as good as Brett Maycar has played, they lost 16-5 to a team that I think we all were pretty comfortably saying was the worst team in the league like two weeks ago. So how how great is it? Or, you know, but you can't tell how great Brett Maycar is being when you know his defense is giving up 16 goals and they're losing games. And they have an eighteen a minus eighteen point differential. Like, you know.
@HootSportsMedia: I don't know.
Neil Barrett: We d we should mention that Aiden Maguire got his first goal. you know, there's been a lot said about Aiden Maguire and that number one pick. and I feel like we should celebrate when he does something that impressive. So good on you. Hopefully it's the first of many. I had the question I was gonna ask you of the three and four teams. So we have that's not fair. I'm gonna I'm not I'm gonna yeah, of the three and four teams. Actually that yeah, that works. So Utah, Boston, Carolina, and New York. Who do you have the most faith in?
@HootSportsMedia: Ha ha ha, I don't know about that one.
Neil Barrett: Ha ha ha. Can I can I assume that New York is the bottom of that list?
@HootSportsMedia: They're at the bottom, but the other three I it's a toss up. I Utah, I think Utah's gonna be th the first. I think they have the best they have the best goalie. I think they probably have the best defense of those.
Neil Barrett: Interesting. Fair. Also fair.
@HootSportsMedia: McMeekin's standing out, but I think Sis is like the other like I I feel better about him over Inacio this year. I Inacio's a good faceoff guy. He's just having a real a real tough year. And then I look like offensively and I'm like Utah should be better than they are. Like they should have more than seventy-five goals. Look at this game as an example. They're not gonna put up sixteen every week, but like Connor Fields had four points, like that's a great game from him. You know, if we can find that consistency, like that that's really good. Whereas Boston, I I have s just questions. I just I don't
Neil Barrett: He is.
@HootSportsMedia: It felt like with Asher and Marcus and that like that w those are the mainstays and now it's just kinda like who can we fill in that apparently works some games. and same with Carolina.
Neil Barrett: Well, and to be fair to them, yeah, to to be fair to Boston, I agree with you, but they have been getting that product, you know, Jack Ragneri steps up, Coulter Mackesee steps up, Mick Kelly has been good, you know, like they've been getting that person that they need. It's just a different person, seemingly every week, that steps into that hole. but like you said.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Neil Barrett: You know, I I hate to say it. I freaking Jackson Van Vlake is gonna be so ecstatic. But yeah, I mean it feels like it it feels like it has to be Utah. Not even not even specifically yeah, not even specifically because of how they won these games, but because of like what you laid out. You know, Brett Dobson is arguably the best player on any of those four teams.
@HootSportsMedia: Of of those four, yeah.
Neil Barrett: I do I agree with you. I think their defense is the best of those four teams and their offense in a weird way feels the most settled. Now, I think if Carolina I think Carolina is like right there with them in terms of those categories, because obviously they have Blaze Reardon, they have Jack Rowette and a very good defense i in front of Blaze. And then and then I think they have a lot of really good weapons on offense as well. It just feels like they are maybe, maybe the the archers are kind of going up and the the the can the chaos are kind of going down a little bit. admittedly Jack Rallett did not play this weekend. I think that could be kind of like I said about Chris Fake, could be one of those things that like really kind of puts them into a an another category and maybe I don't know if they I don't know if they make up a seven goal loss, but they're at least way more competitive in that game. and so I think they could be really similar to the archers. Obviously the cannons are on a little bit of a roll right now, but I I still I still just don't have faith that they that they're gonna keep it up. They may prove me wrong but And then obviously we we both said I mean the Atlas or the Atlas, like
@HootSportsMedia: Like th the Atlas should be we should feel the best about the Atlas of those four teams if we're just thinking about name recognition. But I I just I can't confidently do that right now. It because because they have the names they do and are having the problems they are. It's like at least with like with Utah, I mean shoot, Carolina and Boston for that matter, they have a couple of like mainstays, but like we're saying, th lot of these guys are just like, we just drafted you, we just signed you, we
Neil Barrett: Yeah. No.
@HootSportsMedia: We need some bodies. Let's make s make it work. And they're making it work to a degree. And and you know, I I also think just they're at they're at at a different place than New York theoretically should be in. Like New York should be among the best in the league looking to to to to you know, back to back two Pete. And these other teams are like, Hey, we were bad last year. We just want to be better and get back to the place where we're at least in the playoffs. And and it's totally flipped. So Yeah, it's crazy to think about, but
Neil Barrett: Yeah, I mean we we we've talked the last few weeks about Connor Schellenberger looking like he's starting to figure it out and figure out what his role needs to be and how he needs to lead this team. Two points this weekend. Admittedly, I don't think anybody really looked very good on the Atlas team at all. top to bottom, they they kind of look like trash. But but two points, forty-four touches. Two point, he shot zero percent. His two point his two points were assists. You know, it it feels like one of those things, again, if Connor Schellenberger plays the way he's been playing the last few weeks, does it do they overcome an 11 goal loss? Probably not. But maybe you know, maybe it's maybe it's made more competitive. Maybe a few of those archer's points come off the board, you know, maybe it it swings some momentum here and there. Like you never know. And and it just That team seems to go the way that Connor Schellenberger goes. And I think we have yet to see him. I think we we thought we were getting him starting to be consistent and know what he needed to do week in and week out. and it's it's entirely possible that this was a bad game from him, but I just I feel like I need to see it more than two weeks in a row before I'm willing to to kind of bank on it being the case. 'cause it that's what it feels like. It feels like it was two bad weeks, then two good weeks and and then you know, a a really, really bad week. So yeah. the WLL this week had probably the game of the weekend. the New York Charm beat the New York Charging 1615. the game was won on Bridget Duffy's goal that that went in and came right back out. No one on the field was aware until the coach challenged it. and then obviously I I say that that's what won it, what really probably won it. was Kaylee, not Kaylee Kuoko, that is the actress. the goalie's name is also Cuco. I can't remember her first name. I'm totally blanking on it because all my brain wants to say is Kaylee Cuoko. That's Penny from the Big Bang Theory. which I'm sure that girl has probably heard her whole life. And I apologize for re-traumatizing her. But it was probably one really on her last second save. To keep the score 16-15, but on incredible game, the WLL continues to be one of the most fun things about this summer. but interestingly enough, the New York charging two WL weeks ago, which was probably almost a month ago at this point between the All-Star game and and some breaks, we we assumed the New York charging were Gonna roll the two and They hadn't lost since the championship series that they won. and we are now sitting at a position where they are they are currently not in the championship game. they can still make it depending on how some results shake out. but right now they are not in it and they are done. Their season is done right now. They have already played their four games this season, They are going to be very big Boston tr guard fans over the next few weeks. they need they need Boston to win one of these two games, I think it is. if
@HootSportsMedia: Both games. Probably.
Neil Barrett: Is it is it I thought it was just one.
@HootSportsMedia: Well, I mean
Neil Barrett: Or maybe you know what you know what I think it is? I think it's it matters who they beat. If they beat if they beat the charm this week, I think they go. I don't know. I don't I don't remember what all the tiebreakers are. but either way, just crazy that that this team that this New York charging team has just like taken this sharp left turn and we thought they were just gonna
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. Yeah.
Neil Barrett: steamroll their way to the championship and now they may not even be in the game itself. So
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. The palms are all but in the championship though. They have one more game. They're at a plus eight score differential, the only team with a positive. Maryland has zero. So As long as they don't get destroyed, they're I think they should be in.
Neil Barrett: Should have put on my pink jersey for this conversation.
@HootSportsMedia: Too late now.
Neil Barrett: It is it's too late now. It's too late now. But
@HootSportsMedia: You can wait till they till they clinch next week and then you can wear it.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah. I listen, I'll I'll take it. And it and it's that's I think the other part that's crazy to me is that the charging the last two weeks they have played and a win would have locked them into the championship game and they lost both of them. They couldn't win either of them and now they they may not make it at all. and that just seems crazy. If you had told me a few weeks ago they wouldn't even play in the game, I'd I'd have like, You're crazy. so
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: with that in mind, let's look ahead to Fairfield this weekend. It is Indigenous Heritage weekend at Fairfield University. first things first. All all Ooh. No, probably not, right? The PLL released their Indigenous Heritage jerseys. I was just thinking, ooh, are we gonna get WLL Indigenous Heritage jerseys? But probably not, right? Because there's only there's only two teams playing there, so they probably won't do them.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, I doubt it.
Neil Barrett: That's a bummer. They should do they should do at least some merch or something.
@HootSportsMedia: That'd be cool.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. I did I'd enjoy that. No, I it probably won't. It probably won't. but I I I did wanna get your thoughts on the indigenous heritage jerseys from that released this week.
@HootSportsMedia: I don't think it'll happen, but it it would be cool. I have all the respect in the world to the artist. I think the d the logos are fine. I have nothing polite to say about the jerseys.
Neil Barrett: Yeah.
@HootSportsMedia: Sorry.
Neil Barrett: What what is your problem with the jerseys?
@HootSportsMedia: They're horrendous.
Neil Barrett: But I mean, is it like color? Is it the style? Like do you wish they had the big logo? Like what's what is it that makes them so bad for you?
@HootSportsMedia: Okay, okay, there's a lot. First off, it is the most cookie cutter design possible. This is the time that that we should be pushing limits. And I've been outspoken about this at Champ Series, Indigenous, Throwback. The the home in a way, fine. Like whatever. But like this is the time to really try things. And I feel like it it just looks awkward with the little logo on the top and then the numbers below.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, keep those standards.
@HootSportsMedia: Like there's just no there's no reason for it. I know the r the referees probably like it 'cause you can see the number on the front. But like have him turn around if you really need to see the number. You know what I mean?
Neil Barrett: Well most teams don't most teams have numbers on the shorts?
@HootSportsMedia: Probably. Probably for that reason. Like there are ways around that. I I also I I really dislike the so the the design on the shoulders. I don't like how it stops at the seam. Like some jerseys, it's not as big of a deal. On the colored jerseys, it's not awful because it's still the color. But like look at the Outlaws one. It's gray directly into white. I just think it looks I think I think it looks weird, to be frank with you. The Water Dogs can kinda get away with it because it's it's still white. I d I another thing I dislike how the teams consistently change colors and shades. How many shades of red do does Chaos have in their arsenal? We talk I feel like I feel like everyone told me about how consistency is key and they're not gonna change up the jerseys too much year over year anymore because we need consistency to be taken seriously. And then we do stuff like this. A bunch.
Neil Barrett: You were You were you were not a fan you said in in twenty nineteen?
@HootSportsMedia: No. I saw the I saw the bitmoji like thing that you sent and like that's fine, but that's not who they are now.
Neil Barrett: No, I no, I listen, I agree with you. I I agree with you. I'm not I didn't send that in defense of them. I send it as like, this is weird. It's like they have gone back to the original five color five color color scheme. And that didn't make any sense to me because because that barely lasted. It was that first season, and then almost immediately that next season, they went to a more standard like
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah yeah yeah yeah. Yeah.
Neil Barrett: red, black, and white color scheme. And and of course the the shade of red has changed several times, but they basically abandoned the five color color scheme. And then this uniform looks like they have gone back to it, which is weird. Like pick a lane, stay in it. I I'm with you. I'm fine with I think this is a time to try things and to do things. I'm even fine with you trying something, taking a swing on something and it miss it. That's fine. I I'd rather I'd rather that than than just constantly playing it safe. this is one I'm I completely agree with you. The the small logos above the numbers, it's just goofy. They're not small enough. Like in the early 2000s, this was like a thing that everyone did, but you shrunk it down really small. Like really small.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: and so that it didn't it didn't affect where like the numbers sat on the jersey too much. I do think that there's a few where it looks okay. but by and large I just think it's a it's a goofy design. I don't love the the shoulder patterns, Either mostly because I I don't like that it's templated. I don't like that every single team has the same shoulder design. I don't know if they're the same pattern. I think no, they are the same. They are the same pattern. I thought I thought that maybe they were different. but but yeah, the I I don't like that it's the same pattern. Like you said, it's it's all the jerseys are the same. Little little logo here, numbers.
@HootSportsMedia: They are.
Neil Barrett: Sleeve stripe, shoulder pattern, like it's the exact same thing for every single team. I don't really like that.
@HootSportsMedia: It feels like practice jerseys when they when they do that.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. Yeah.
@HootSportsMedia: And I don't that's one of my favorite parts actually about watching like the NBA, is you see different franchises that have so different such different types of jerseys. Like that's fun. Also, like why is Boston wearing grey? That's stupid. They are blue and red. A white would look better than the gre like w I just don't the archers, that's a different orange, at least on the graphic, than what they actually wear. Like I don't
Neil Barrett: To be fair, the the gray silver is technically part of the Boston Cannons color scheme, so I can let that one slide a little.
@HootSportsMedia: Sure, but we don't need that on a jersey. That's why you have a helmet. That's great.
Neil Barrett: Well, to me, that one would fall more under like we're trying something different. I hear you. I'm not saying it worked, but I I also want to see what shorts they pair that with. You know, if there's if there's some red shorts, I might I might get down with that. I agree with you on the archers though. The orange, it looks weird. Because here's the other thing that I've thought about several of these jerseys. The the chaos is a huge one.
@HootSportsMedia: No no. No.
Neil Barrett: What helmet are they wearing with this chaos jersey? They have a black helmet and they have a chrome red helmet. What helmet are they wearing with this jersey? The black's gonna look I the black might look worse than the red.
@HootSportsMedia: It's gotta be the black. It's gotta be the black. Yeah, it has to be. The f man. I
Neil Barrett: The black and that like burgundy, that that's gonna well.
@HootSportsMedia: I don't know. I don't I don't have a good answer. I don't like either of them. And then h this is th here's what I will say that is good on that front of the colors. The teal jersey, awesome. Like that's a staple color. That should all like that's sick. I like the fact that the redwoods went with brown. Like we don't get that jersey that a lot. That's awesome. The navy with Atlas is cool. and like the sleeving on some of them like I like the the one on Maryland's. The others, like the trees on the woods, I don't mind. I do actually I think that Chaos have the best sleeve. I I like that design. I don't like the two colors, but you know, Utah's I I th I like the idea of the mountains, but you know, we're getting to that overplayed kind of point. But I do hope that speaking of like the helmets, I hope but that they go all teal. Because I think Carolina's all red that they wore recently was their best look. I love the all orange that Utah wore two weeks ago now, I think. So I hope they they give that a shot. I think that'd be cool. you know, I would hope that like the outlaws have orange shorts. They'll probably wear black unf or white, unfortunately, but I hope they have orange, you know. I I hope Philly wears purple.
Neil Barrett: I liked that. Hold on. What? I would love to see the Outlaws pair that with orange shorts. That would look dope. Do they have
@HootSportsMedia: Like I think I think on field they'll look better than like if I'm just gonna go buy a jersey to wear as a fan.
Neil Barrett: And I I will say, typically I make videos about, you know, the gear that that gets released. I'm intentionally waiting to see these on the field because I know it's going to change my opinion. Like if you look at the the the the big this version, the the orange the orange in the archer's jersey there
@HootSportsMedia: Yep, that's what I'm looking at.
Neil Barrett: looks very different than if you scroll all the way to the end, that orange right there looks more natural. I wouldn't say it's totally the archer's orange that we're used to, but it looks closer to it in that image. So I really want to see what it looks like on the field. The question I have, I would the reason that I was looking at that archer's picture, where what are all those colors on this on the stripes? There's like a golden, a black, like where did where did those come from?
@HootSportsMedia: They're not their colours. Well if you notice like there's two different oranges, there's two different blues.
Neil Barrett: And again I Yeah. And again I go
@HootSportsMedia: Also the the the Utah Sports Commission logo is like so tiny on the front, it's like why even include it?
Neil Barrett: Yeah. It's like a yeah, it looks like a stamp. You know you know, honestly, like looking through these for a few minutes, one of the better looking ones is the water dogs.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, yeah, I think that's that's probably the best one.
Neil Barrett: I do I do really like that one and and
@HootSportsMedia: I still wish it was purple, but i for a white jersey, like, I think it's sharp.
Neil Barrett: You know what I was you know what I'm hoping they do? Kind of like what you were talking about. I hope they wear that with purple shorts. I think that'd be sick. Per yeah, purple shorts, purple lid. Yeah, that'd be sick. And I I have not liked the Atlas one in any of the the like mock-ups that they've done, but the the few pictures, the actual pictures of the jersey, I'm like, actually I do really like that. And I think that could look really, really sick. And that that's the opposite. I want them to go blue,
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. Purple shorts, purple lid?
Neil Barrett: solar blue on solar blue with those with that one. I think that would be sick.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. Well I think I told you that they they were one of the better ones because they chose navy. It and I'm even gonna double down on that now because thinking about the that new light blue that they have compared to the last light blue, I'm not a big fan of the new light blue. So seeing it more minimal on this type of thing, I think looks far better than had they tried to reverse that.
Neil Barrett: Yes. No. Yeah. Yeah. No, I'm I'm with you. That that new blue is weird. But like again, we go back to the the blue on this one. The the navy is so light and everything. And then when you see the actual pictures and it's so much darker and that everything kind of pops off of it a little better. it looks so much better in person than it does in these pictures and these mock-ups. So again, that's one of the things we're like, I'm I'm I'm reserving
@HootSportsMedia: Yes.
Neil Barrett: full judgment until we see them, especially because again, you know, the water dogs, I I like the water dogs jersey a lot, but if they wear it with purple shorts, like I'm gonna be like, holy crap, this is the best uniform they've had, you know, like it'll it will go even higher. And if if somehow they manage to make that Chaos jersey look good, I c I can't I can't even fathom how they would make that happen. But if they pull it off, like it will change my opinion, you know.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: I here's
@HootSportsMedia: Here's here's the hard hitting question though. Do does California go yellow, brown, green? And if so, how many goals are they winning by?
Neil Barrett: So wait, so they could go they could go yellow, brown, green, green, brown, green. Their other jerseys white though, right? So they'd have to go white shorts.
@HootSportsMedia: Yes.
Neil Barrett: I'm not a I'm not a huge tricolor guy. There are a there's a handful of times where it where it works really well for me. but generally speaking, I'm not a huge tri-color guy. Yellow, brown, green might work really well. Especially because it's brown. You might need that yellow. I I'd I'd be I'd be interested to see that versus a green, brown, green. whatever, whatever they do.
@HootSportsMedia: see? You know
Neil Barrett: Do not wear white shorts with that jersey.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, there they they have white and green, so there's a lot of triple mismatch they could they could try there. I think it'd be fun.
Neil Barrett: The own the only question I have is did they make special shorts for these?
@HootSportsMedia: They probably did, but it's probably gonna be very similar to their normal. It's probably just gonna have the the updated logo, you know.
Neil Barrett: I feel like that's what they normally do is they make shorts as well. which makes me feel like we're gonna get a lot of like like chaos is gonna have like matching shorts.
@HootSportsMedia: Th they need white shorts, I think.
Neil Barrett: Yeah, but then then you're gonna go what? Black, Burgundy, and white?
@HootSportsMedia: look, I d I don't know. I don't know. I just I
Neil Barrett: The only thing I can think, the only thing I can think is that if the sleeve panels are like a like a bright red like a normal vibrant red that would go with the helmet, and then you wear red shorts with it, so that like the only kind of burgundy element is the jersey itself, maybe.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. I don't know.
Neil Barrett: I just can't, I just don't understand. Like I said, I'm here for a swing and a miss. I just don't understand who looked at this and was like, yep, that's the one. That's the that's the that's the place we're gonna swing on this.
@HootSportsMedia: I don't know. And I'm not trying to be a hater, but I I just for my personal design eyeballs. I was not particularly drawn to this iteration of the indigenous. I will say I do like that there's not that yellow like you know, crosser thing at the collar like we've seen in previous years. I was not a fan of that. and I I I don't mind them keeping the logos too. I think that's a really cool touch, but yeah, I I I just there were more negatives for me than than pros.
Neil Barrett: To f for me, I actually I actually dislike that they use the same logos. I think but mostly be not because the logos themselves are bad or whatever, but because I I feel like this is an opportunity to do something different, get a different artist.
@HootSportsMedia: That is fair. I I would like to see some watermarks in this style. Like instead of having a scorpion for chaos, maybe it says chaos, but it's in that indigenous style. I think that'd be kinda cool. Or or an iteration of the two, you know?
Neil Barrett: Yep. Yeah. Yeah. No, especially if you're gonna do this style jersey with the numbers on the front. I had the same thought, was like, why not why not have the team names spelled out? Like you you clearly have a number font. Why not have the team names spelled out? or if you want to use the logos, make a a you know, PLL style jersey.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah, yeah.
Neil Barrett: And throw the logo on the front again. I like you said, I don't think they need to have the numbers on the front of the jerseys other than to accommodate, you know, the lax bros that are like you can't take my numbers. You can have my numbers when you prime from my cold dead fingers. Like I they I don't people got really weird about jersey numbers. And I didn't I didn't really understand that. Especially after after like six years of the PL. Like why are y'all still mad about P I I I had a meeting with someone from the PL today and I was talking about how when the the PL first started in 2019 and they announced their rule set and what they were gonna do, I was one of those people that was like, you know, they're they're pulling 10 yards out of the field, they're changing all these rules, they're doing this, they're doing that. And then you watch the game one time and you don't even notice that 10 yards that they pulled out. Like not once have I ever thought, man, this field feels really short. I've never once thought about it. The only time I ever even remember that they have pulled 10 yards out of the the field is when they're playing at like a football venue or something, and you can just see that extra spot between like the wall and where the field starts. And you're like, that that should be closer, shouldn't it? It's the only time I ever think about things like that. and that's the way I feel like I got with PL jerseys with the with the thing on the front with no with the logo on the front with no numbers. I was like, yeah, it just became the PL style to me. Like I didn't understand why people got so
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. To me that's a lacrosse style. The N L is the same way. Like it for the most part. Like it's it's just the logo. And then if it and most times, like you said earlier, like the teams have the numbers on the shorts, so you still have that component without it being like hey, this is like you have a big number on your back anyway, so why not show off the logo that someone took time to design?
Neil Barrett: Right. Well that I just Yeah, and I just I just liked that the PL was doing their own thing. They they weren't tied to, well, this is the way it's always been. and, you know, I I liked that you could buy a PL jersey and wear it. And you you weren't like, you know, wearing a sports jersey. these Nike they're the Nike jerseys are not as bad as I thought they might be when the Nike deal was announced, but They're not as wearer friendly as the other ones were. So anyway, we've talked so much about these jerseys. Let's talk about the games this weekend. we have the Redwoods Whip Snakes, Chaos Outlaws, Archer's Water Dogs, Atlas Cannons, and the WLL's Boston Guard versus the Maryland Charm. what what are we paying attention to this weekend?
@HootSportsMedia: I would say there's some tipping point games for sure. mainly the last one with New York and Boston just same record but different situations and and I really want to see do we learn anything from the other team? Potentially not, but I think there there are some things that we could. The WLO game I I
Neil Barrett: Well, it could it could have s serious playoff implications.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah. I was gonna say the same thing for the WLL game actually. Like that's gonna be I I hope the guard win just so we have some like you know, drama at the I don't want it to just be like, okay, we know like who's, you know, kinda going.
Neil Barrett: Intrigue. Yeah, 'cause I I think the last game and I'll look it while you while you keep talking, but I I think the last game would be Charm Palms. And if Boston loses this game, it's just gonna be a r a a preview of what the championship game would
@HootSportsMedia: No no no no no. It would be it would be guard palms. This is Maryland's last game.
Neil Barrett: You're right. You're right. You're right. I'm dumb.
@HootSportsMedia: So the guard are in must win territory. but yeah, I think that's fun. I think with the way the outlaws performed, they n they need a win. They also need to bounce back against Carolina to even up the the tiebreaker there.
Neil Barrett: You're right.
@HootSportsMedia: And then like that that first game's gonna be, I think, really exciting with California and Maryland. If Maryland comes to play like they did last week, which so far they've been up and down, but care California's been one of my favorite teams to watch as well this year. And then Philly theoretically should take care of business against Utah. But I don't know. Utah could come out and just be be crazy again.
Neil Barrett: Theoretically. I'm trying to th I'm trying to think if there's like a there's like a wager or something if there's some if there's some prediction I wanna make just for the fun of it. You know you know how much I hate making predictions, but
@HootSportsMedia: That's okay, I went one and four last week, all things considered, so I'm a pro.
Neil Barrett: Yeah. I I that's you I sat in fantasy last week I sat Connor Fields and someone else. Was it Mako Key? It was somebody else on the Archers team that both got like 50 points. And I was like, great, great, awesome.
@HootSportsMedia: that hurts. That hurts. It's alright, I had Liam in my lineup. If that helps.
Neil Barrett: I had now I now I have to look it up. Cause I had I had somebody that ended up with like negative points. That w it was like, are you kidding me, dude? Like the one time I picked you, you got me negative points.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: Like part of me wants to pick the archers for this week just for the chaos. Not even 'cause I fully believe in it, but just for the chaos of it. that's right. I had I had Xander Dixon and he finished the game with seven points. And Cullen Brown had two. Actually didn't do half bad that week. I think it was the week before that that I'd like royally screwed up. yeah, that was the game CJ Kirst got negative five points. How is that possible? that was the All Star game. CJ Kurz got negative five and Matt Trainer got negative four. Good times. Anyway, all all of that to say, yes, I I I think I agree with you. I think the outlaws really need a win here. but also the chaos do too. So that that's gonna be a game nobody nobody can can take away. That's one of the things where when people are like, it doesn't matter. you know, so many teams make the playoffs. And it's like, sure, but seeding happens, you know, so somebody's got to finish last. Everybody's so bunched up right now. The chaos lose this weekend, they could they could slide to last place pretty easily. you know, so the the games matter. seeding's gonna shake out one way or another. Their tiebreakers are important, like all of these games matter. Both of these teams need this win.
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: You know, I maybe you could argue the Redwoods and Whipsnakes, neither of those teams need this win. but they're certainly going to want to prove that they belong. the Archers are gonna try and keep it rolling. So are the what the Water Dogs. maybe, maybe CJ will get negative five points again this week. Of course, you know what? He will. You know why? Because he's on my fantasy team. So he will get negative five points this week. and the archers will win 16 to 30. three and we'll be like, what the heck?
@HootSportsMedia: I think you should change your lineup to an all chaos lineup. I think that's probably the move this week.
Neil Barrett: You just you just really, really want me to jinx the team that the Outlaws are playing.
@HootSportsMedia: Apparently that's what you do. So
Neil Barrett: That's I mean, that's exactly what I do. So
@HootSportsMedia: Yeah.
Neil Barrett: Although, although I to be fair, I don't know that it has ever jinxed an entire team. It has just jinxed my fantasy team. Cause CJ Curse will have n CJ Kurse will have negative five, but Michael Saberst will have four hundred and thirty-seven and they'll still win.
@HootSportsMedia: That's fine. Nah nah nah. Owen Hilts Owen Hilts, welcome to the squad. Blaze Reorden, welcome to the squad.
Neil Barrett: Listen, Owen Hiltz doesn't need me to jinx him. He's been doing that just fine himself.
@HootSportsMedia: Don't say stop, stop, don't say that. They you're gonna jinx the other way. Relax. Goodness gracious.
Neil Barrett: That's true. Whatever I say, I'm I'm it's going the other direction, whatever it is that I say. So but I I I I also think this this WLL game I again, the WLL games just by and large have been so much fun. And I I have no reason to believe this game won't be incredible and obviously has huge implications for the I keep wanting to say playoffs. There's not really playoffs for the championship game. I I do think Maryland probably wins that.
@HootSportsMedia: Nah, I'ma have my butt I'ma have my Charlotte North jersey on. And they're gonna get it done.
Neil Barrett: Yo, speaking of Charlotte North, did you see the video of her working out?
@HootSportsMedia: No.
Neil Barrett: Dude, she was in in that leg cast on her knees doing Ryder Garnsy shot, just ripping at that cage. And I was like, you're like two weeks post that like what in the world? Like crazy.
@HootSportsMedia: Ha ha ha. Doc said, No movement, she said all right.
Neil Barrett: Bet I will I will shoot without moving my feet. Crazy. But I I just couldn't believe she was just ripping at that net. And I was like, dude, this Charlotte North cannot sit still. Like she is ready to get back to playing now. the the the question for you Redwoods whip snakes? Is Rob Pennell gonna break it? I know you said you hope he doesn't. Is he gonna?
@HootSportsMedia: He's finishing with two points on the on the day.
Neil Barrett: Either Do you do you want me to try and jinx them?
@HootSportsMedia: No, he's gonna have t I already t I already set in stone, I said it. He's gonna have two points. He's gonna come to Denver and he's gonna break it there.
Neil Barrett: I think he has six points.
@HootSportsMedia: Isn't no, no, you're you're tripping for that alone. Record aside, he's not having six points. No stop. Stop. Six points against Dylan Ward, Chris Fake and company? No.
Neil Barrett: Sex points Sex points.
@HootSportsMedia: Rob Pennell, congrats, you're gonna have zero points this week, 'cause Neil says you're gonna have six.
Neil Barrett: Listen, who said I'm not doing you a favor?
@HootSportsMedia: Maybe you are, and if so, I hope you are. Not that it really matters, like nothing special's gonna happen if he does it in Denver. I just really would hope that I can capture it, 'cause that'd be fun, but
Neil Barrett: And he he does have a I I do wanna say he does have a game with six points this year.
@HootSportsMedia: That's awesome. That's that's good for him. You know who else has a game with six points? CJ Kirst. He got you negative five points one time. Alright? Things happen.
Neil Barrett: It wa it was a That was the All Star game though.
@HootSportsMedia: I don't really care what game it was.
Neil Barrett: Rob's six point game was against the Atlas though, so maybe we should take that with the grain of salt. He's not played the water or the red dog the red dogs.
@HootSportsMedia: Ooh, the red dogs. Wow.
Neil Barrett: Red dogs, the red woods this year. So I guess we will see what happens there. yeah, so with with Rob Pennell's chase for history, I guess we will sign off. I believe I believe it's nine hundred and thirty-seven.
@HootSportsMedia: What number is he chasing? Mm, okay. Yeah, I wasn't I wasn't sure.
Neil Barrett: I'm just gonna keep I'm just gonna keep every time you ask me it's gonna be a different Since apparently we just make up that number. so yeah, with that all being said, we'll get out of here. But before we do, got anything going on this week?
@HootSportsMedia: I have a football camp Saturday and then potentially a couple of like brunch or dinners on Sunday with some family, so but yeah, yeah, yeah. The only thing shooting this week's a a nice, simple easy football camp. So it should be good.
Neil Barrett: did you notice before we completely jump off of lacrosse, it is a three day weekend this weekend. There are games Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Yeah, that's that'll be that'll be fun. It'll be broken up.
@HootSportsMedia: Yes, yes I did. It's good stuff. I wish that's how it was in Denver too, because it's gonna be there's five games in Denver. Three of them are on Saturday. Gonna have to like bring a lunch pail.
Neil Barrett: Yep. You have fun with that. Although it's looking more and more likely that I'm going to be in Columbus for the games. And I think I think it's the same way. Yeah, five games. Sit there's actually six games. Ca and I'm gonna largely be covering the Stars and Stripes games, so I'm annoyed. There's six games and none of them are WLL games. Great. but yeah, if if you guys will be in Columbus, maybe I'll see you there. but that is it for this week. If you enjoyed this episode, the Lax Lifers Club is where our community lives.
